We had a wonderful week last week. We practiced different line strokes between the primary printing lines, used our agendas every day, the afternoon students got to paint their apples, we learned about the Coronavirus and read stories and did activities all about ourselves.
This upcoming week we will readjust with new class configurations. Some students have been moved from one class to another and we said goodbye to Mr. Dalderis as he has been reassigned in the school and there will now be a combined Kindergarten class in the afternoon. Mr. Dalderis will be there to support us as students will transition to a new classroom and teacher. So, this week we will work on getting settled, getting to know each other again and being kind and gentle with each other. We know change is hard but rest assured that we are here for you and your child.
This week we will have picture day on Monday. We will continue working on writing different lines in our booklets and sending home the same homework expectations: write the writing stroke we learned that day 5 times underneath the line we completed at school. We will check homework every day and give a checkmark or feedback so please check for that.
Homework Practice this week:
Monday: write 5 diagonal back lines (with a finger-space between each one)
Tuesday: write 5 diagonal down lines
Wednesday: write 5 horizontal lines
Thursday: write 5 clock strokes
We will continue our art and stories that describe each one of us and how unique we are. We will also start our Math lessons using our JumpMath work books. We will be starting with recognizing sets of numbers up to 5 and connecting a set of objects to the numeral for that number.
Please remember to read through and complete all the beginning of the year forms that were sent last week. We will also be sending home a “Walking Field Trip” form that will give us permission to walk over to a playground for outside time as we are currently not allowed to share the playground equipment. We will try our best to go outside for some fresh air and movement every day so please dress your child appropriately for the weather.
Important Upcoming Dates:
Monday, September 14th: Picture Day (wear formal uniform)
Friday, September 18th: AM class attends; PM class – no school
Friday, September 25th: No School
